ALink Recruitment are working alongside a consultancy expanding their Inspection Division, with the addition of a permanent Building Surveyor to support the delivery of a growing pipeline of technical inspection work. The role could be based out of either their London or Hertfordshire office, as well as site visits.

This is not a traditional measured-building survey role. We’re looking for someone from a condition surveying / structural investigation background who enjoys getting into the detail of how buildings perform: assessing, diagnosing and clearly communicating the condition of a wide range of assets.

You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality inspection work, working closely with senior surveyors, Operations, and Commercial teams across a variety of sectors.

The Role

This position sits within a fast-growing inspection team, supporting the delivery of building condition surveys and structural investigations across commercial, residential, heritage, industrial and infrastructure assets.

You’ll be involved in both site-based and office-based technical work, contributing to a modern, technology-led inspection offering.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Delivery

* Undertake building condition surveys and structural inspections across a range of asset types

* Assist with defect diagnosis, building pathology assessments, and preparation of technical reports

* Support intrusive and non-intrusive investigations, including coordination with specialist subcontractors

* Produce clear, accurate survey outputs including reports, drawings, and photographic records

* Ensure all work complies with relevant regulations and technical standards

Project Support

* Support the planning and delivery of surveys from initial scope through to final reporting

* Work closely with senior team members on more complex investigations

* Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to support project delivery

* Assist in maintaining quality and consistency across all outputs

Technology & Innovation

* Contribute to the use of advanced inspection technologies such as drones, LiDAR, and thermography

* Support the integration of digital tools into survey outputs where appropriate

Skills & Experience

Technical Background

* Degree in Building Surveying, Structural Engineering, Building Pathology, Construction Technology, or similar

* Working towards chartership with a recognised body such as Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Chartered Institute of Building, or similar

* Experience carrying out condition surveys, inspections, or defect analysis

* Understanding of building construction, materials, and common defects

* Exposure to a range of asset types (commercial, residential, industrial, or similar)

Core Skills

* Strong report writing and attention to detail

* Good communication skills, both on-site and with clients

* Organised and able to manage workload across multiple projects

* Willingness to learn and develop within a technical environment

Desirable (Not Essential)

* Experience using inspection technologies (e.g. drones, LiDAR, thermography)

* Experience supporting structural investigations or working alongside specialist testing contractors

Personal Attributes

* Curious and detail-oriented, with a genuine interest in how buildings perform

* Collaborative and comfortable working as part of a wider team

* Proactive mindset with a willingness to take ownership of tasks

* Keen to develop technical expertise within a growing specialist division

Why Join?

This is an opportunity to join a rapidly expanding inspection team, gaining exposure to complex and varied projects without the pressure of leadership responsibilities.

You’ll work alongside experienced technical professionals, develop your skillset, and play a part in delivering a modern, technology-driven approach to building inspection

Where to Advertise UAV Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Where to advertise UAV jobs UK in 2026: the specialist boards, defence channels and community routes that reach drone, autonomy and BVLOS engineers. The candidate pool spans aeronautical engineers, embedded systems developers, flight control specialists, RF engineers, payload integration experts and regulatory affairs professionals — a highly specific multidisciplinary mix that general job boards are poorly equipped to reach. The strongest UAV candidates often come from defence backgrounds, aerospace primes or academic research groups, and move between roles through specialist networks, industry events and sector-specific channels rather than mainstream platforms. This guide, published by UAVJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise UAV and drone roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.

UAV Jobs UK 2026: What to Expect Over the Next 3 Years

UAV Jobs UK 2026: drone engineering roles, salaries and the autonomous aviation hiring trends shaping UK UAV careers over the next three years. The unmanned aerial vehicle sector has spent the better part of a decade promising to transform industries. That transformation is now happening — not as the sudden revolution that early advocates predicted, but as a steady, well-funded, and increasingly regulated maturation that is reshaping the jobs market in ways that are both significant and durable. Drones are no longer a novelty technology operated by enthusiasts and a handful of specialist defence contractors. They are operational infrastructure across an expanding range of industries — logistics and last-mile delivery, infrastructure inspection, precision agriculture, emergency services, construction surveying, maritime operations, and military and defence applications that have grown dramatically in strategic importance. Each of those sectors is generating its own distinct hiring demand, drawing on overlapping but meaningfully different skill sets, and creating career pathways that did not exist at anything approaching meaningful scale three years ago. For job seekers, the UAV jobs market of 2026 represents a genuine opportunity — but one that rewards those who understand the sector's specific technical, regulatory, and commercial dynamics rather than those who simply bring enthusiasm and a drone licence. The roles being created now are more technically sophisticated, more commercially oriented, and more regulatory-aware than the UAV jobs of even three years ago. This article breaks down what the UK UAV jobs market is likely to look like through to 2028 — covering the titles emerging right now, the technologies driving employer demand, the skills that will matter most, and how to position your career ahead of the next wave of drone industry growth.
