Hours: Full-time, flexible working (8:00am - 4:30pm or 9:00am - 5:30pm)

We're looking for an organised, proactive, and detail-focused Assistant Buyer to join our busy procurement team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building supplier relationships, managing stock levels, and ensuring everything runs smoothly from order to delivery.


You'll play a key part in supporting the purchasing function - helping to secure materials and products at the best value, while maintaining quality and service standards our customers expect.



Key Responsibilities




Purchase Orders: Create, review, and process purchase orders accurately and on time.




Supplier Liaison: Communicate with suppliers to confirm order details, delivery dates, and resolve any discrepancies.




Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment to meet production and customer needs.




Vendor Relationships: Build and maintain positive supplier relationships to ensure reliability and efficiency.




Price & Cost Control: Support price negotiations and monitor costs to ensure budget compliance.




Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date purchasing records, supplier contracts, and agreements.




Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams - including logistics, production, and finance - to ensure smooth operations.




Problem Solving: Handle and resolve delivery or quality issues effectively.




Continuous Improvement: Contribute ideas to improve purchasing processes and overall supply chain efficiency.





About You




Previous experience in a purchasing, buying, or supply chain support role.




Strong organisational and multitasking skills.




Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.




Confident using Microsoft Office and purchasing/ERP software.




A keen eye for detail and accuracy.




Positive, team-oriented attitude and willingness to learn.
