We are currently recruiting for a Conference and Banqueting Supervisor to support our C&B team and to assist with conferences and banqueting events here at The Sheraton Grand Hotel and Spa, Edinburgh

The Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa is ideally located in the heart of Edinburgh’s financial and tourist area and is one of Scotland's leading 5 star hotels. As the largest 5 star hotel in the city with 269 bedrooms, we also have the biggest banqueting and meeting facilities with a capacity of up to 500 and the award winning One Square Restaurant. Additionally the hotel operates the award winning One Spa, one of Europe's premier advanced city spas.

The successful candidate for this position will have a strong food & beverage background within the Hotel industry, an ability to work unsupervised and experience/knowledge of banqueting would be required.

A flexible, customer-focused approach is essential, with excellent organisation and leadership skills.

Essential Functions

To review all communication and action as appropriate particularly any information coming from the Events team and other departments be it in verbal or written form. Communicate changes through the team to ensure at all times the information in the team is up to date Responsible for setting up meeting/banquet space in line with Event Orders alone or by Supervising others ensuring the rooms are set per standard and per the Event Order Constant coaching/training of the casual team is required and follow up of all set ups required to verify they are set again as per standard and as per the Event order Responsible when closing for ensuring the close down checklist is adhered to and a comprehensive handover is left for the on coming shift Responsible in the absence of the supervisory Team to ensure that service is as per Sheraton standards and that we are at all times within Health and Safety law and the service of alcohol responsibilities we have. In conjunction with the supervisory team ensure that all functions and service periods are fully staffed to the right degree and that all staff are given the necessary instructions regarding set ups and service prior to each individual function Upselling and identification of additional revenue opportunities. Maintain and adhere to billing policies and procedures. Allocate tasks to the team to ensure all duties carried out thoroughly and on time. Coach existing team members. Assist with daily briefings.
