Curriculum Leader Wellbeing Hub - Fixed Term until 07/12/

Hours: 30.27per week - Monday to Thursday

We are looking for a conscientious, committed candidate who has an ability to build strong, supportive relationships with the pupils who work within the Wellbeing Hub. You will be leading a small team.

The Wellbeing Hub aims to:

support the inclusion of young people identified as at risk of disengagement from education through an individualised curriculum in a smaller, nurturing environment, with a higher staff ratio provide personalised support to enable learners to engage better in their learning to maximise their attainment and achievement encourage pupils to address the key issues which are impacting on their education and help them develop a range of coping strategies. support young people to strengthen their Health and Wellbeing, build positive relationships with their peers, and thrive in mainstream settings. Previous experience of working in a school would be desirable but is not essential.

Tynecastle High School is a six-year comprehensive secondary school which has served west-central Edinburgh with distinction for over years. The school moved to a fantastic new site in January and has first class educational facilities. The school is thoroughly rooted in its local communities, with learners drawn from Balgreen, Craiglockhart, Dalry and Stenhouse Primary Schools.

The school roll is currently around . The school offers a wide range of subjects and successfully presents students for SQA exams at all levels. There is a strong sense of pride in the school demonstrated by students, staff and parents.

A bank of strategies supports the successful integration of pupils with a wide range of needs and abilities in the school and the curriculum. As well as a strong record in supporting young people into the world of work, the school has, over many years, successfully supported significant numbers of high attaining students into a wide range of courses at Universities across the UK. Staff know their students well and a high priority is set by all staff on pastoral care and on ensuring pupils' welfare. The atmosphere is welcoming and warm with respectful relationships underpinning purposeful learning.

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act . The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
