The purpose of the Depot Transport Manager (DTM) is to deliver the transport operation plan for the Depot, whilst developing a high performing team of Drivers. As a key name on the depot O License, you will manage the safety of the operation, people, the legal & regulatory compliance of the transport operation with policy and process excellence for all vehicles relating to the Depot. 

The Depot Transport Manager will work in partnership with all Depot management and colleagues, to ensure the transport operation achieves people, service, cost and quality performance targets. 

Interested? We are looking for someone who can, 

Maintain budgeted costs and plan the fleet to the forecasted volumes. Control driver costs and sustain above target levels of service and quality by ensuring all vehicles and equipment are maintained to a high standard through consistent audits and compliance checks.  Ensure robust and efficient BAU and peak transport planning processes are prepared accounting for contingencies and challenges ensuring the operation runs smoothly. Manage all transport costs, resources, maintenance repairs and CPU with support from the DGM. Lead quality accident investigations professionally and with urgency when necessary. Ensure the Depot is always legally compliant in all relevant documentation and systems, this will include servicing & maintenance of vehicles, regulatory requirements, driver's hours, tacho downloads both driver and vehicle unit along with all training - drivers CPC, MHE and manual handling. 

Skills & Knowledge:

Full Driving License Essential Transport Manager CPC National Certificate IOSH Qualified  Minimum experience of 2-3 years working in a Transport Management position and excellent knowledge of legal compliance, drivers’ hours and WTD's.  Systems knowledge & experience of working with transport management systems and tachograph analysis.  Experience of Drug and Alcohol testing Experience in a busy 24/7 operation with a large team of diverse colleagues.
