About the role


As a Digital Merchandising Manager 14 month FTC, you’ll take the lead in optimising how our products are presented across our digital channels, ensuring every customer finds what they need quickly and confidently within the tyre product range. This role is a 14 month fixed term contract.


Using insight, creativity, and a passion for great customer experiences, you’ll curate and optimise tyre product ranges, deliver engaging online content, and drive commercial results across our eCommerce platforms. Working closely with Digital & Customer, Marketing and Trading teams you’ll turn data into decisions that grow sales and NPS.


Key responsibilities



  • Own and execute the detailed digital merchandising and optimisation plans to maximise customer engagement and conversion across Tyre journeys on Halfords.com and National Tyres sites.
  • Lead range reviews for Tyres, driving sales and profit potential while aligning with overall commercial priorities and digital strategy.
  • Plan and deliver content execution that enhances the customer journey and user experience, ensuring new ranges and campaigns drive conversion.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Digital, Trading, Marketing, Operations, Finance, CRO, and Optimisation teams to deliver data-driven improvements to sales, and conversion rates.
  • Use insights and analytics to influence stakeholders, monitor competitor activity, and respond to market and customer trends to refine online category strategy.
  • Inspire, coach, and engage the merchandising team to make customer-first decisions and contribute to the wider digital engagement and performance plan.


About you



  • Proven experience in developing and delivering strategy that improve conversion rates and overall digital performance.
  • In-depth understanding of customer journeys, with the ability to optimise experiences that drive engagement and sales.
  • Commercially minded, demonstrating strong business acumen and an awareness of key trading and profitability levers.
  • Excellent communicator and stakeholder manager, able to build trust and influence across teams and functions.
  • Decisive and action-oriented, applying sound judgement to make data-led decisions at pace.
  • Analytically skilled, with hands-on experience in data and performance tools such as Google Analytics; experience with Content Square is desirable
  • Collaborative team player, skilled at fostering relationships internally and externally.
  • Exposure to offline marketing and an understanding of how digital and traditional channels work together is desirable.

  • Salary- £35,000-£37,000 per annum dependant on experience, annual discretionary bonus scheme, pension, life assurance, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and enhanced family leave.
