The job itself

We are looking to recruit a worker to support a young lady who is 16 years old, for 4 hours per week term time and 8 hours per week during the school holidays.

She has an Autism diagnosis and Epilepsy, so ideally would like support from someone who is caring and can support with health needs if required.

She is a creative young person and would like a support worker who shares similar interest in crafts and who is fun. Someone who can work on their own initiative to support with arranging and planning sessions, accessing activities, and making arrangements with her, would be beneficial.

She would enjoy spending time with someone who is chatty, relaxed and with common interests for example art and craft, music, cinema, shopping, bowling and eating out.

The hours during the term time are afternoon/evenings for support with

activities, social events and accessing the community for shopping and eating out.

The support during the school holidays is flexible with arrangements made with the family and to provide support for accessing the community, travel, attending groups, activities and days out, guided by the young persons choice and interests.

The worker should have knowledge of working with young people and should be approachable and confident in working and communicating.

The worker will also need to be flexible and understand that the days activities may be led by how the young person is feeling.

The family would ideally like a worker that can commit to doing long term work with their young person.

Must hold a valid driving licence.
