How will you make an impact in this role?

We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to serve as Director of Digital Tracker Remediation, responsible for defining and driving American Express' approach to digital tracking compliance and remediation across our digital ecosystem. This role will lead a team of specialists and partner closely with technology, Privacy, Legal, and digital experience teams to ensure all tracking technologies comply with global privacy regulations.

Minimum qualifications:

Strategic Leadership:

Develop and execute the global digital tracker remediation strategy, ensuring alignment with Privacy goals.

Set the agenda and roadmap for digital tracker remediation efforts across platforms and geographies.

Responsible for the digital tracker scanning vendor management and strategy.

Serve as the primary point of accountability for all digital tracking remediation initiatives.

Team Management:

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team.

Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Legal, Technology, Marketing, and Privacy.

Subject Matter Expertise:

Act as the organization’s subject matter expert on digital tracking technologies (e.g., cookies, pixels, SDKs, tags, and scripts).

Stay current on industry trends to ensure American Express has compliant tracking solutions and consent management platforms that also deliver value to the business.

Provide expert consultation to partner teams on tracker technology, governance, and privacy impacts.

Compliance & Risk Management:

Ensure digital tracking practices adhere to GDPR, UK GDPR, and other relevant international privacy regulations.

Partner with Privacy and Legal teams to interpret regulatory developments and translate them into actionable technical requirements.

Develop monitoring and reporting frameworks to measure compliance and remediation progress.

Execution & Delivery:

Drive end-to-end remediation initiatives, from issue identification to resolution and monitoring.

Establish controls, KPIs, and documentation to support ongoing audit readiness.

Preferred Qualifications:

8+ years of experience in digital trackers, marketing technology, or data privacy compliance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Proven experience in digital tracker technologies (tag managers, analytics platforms, consent management tools, etc.).

Strong understanding of GDPR and other data privacy regulations governing digital tracking.

Experience leading large-scale digital remediation or compliance programs in a global organization.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at senior levels.

Technical fluency in web and app tracking technologies, including JavaScript, APIs, and data collection frameworks.

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or certification in data privacy, compliance, or information technology preferred.
