EQUANS are recruiting for a Gas Engineer to be based in College Road, Kingstanding, to work on repairs and maintenance contract for Birmingham City Council properties throughout Birmingham. This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview: 


The Gas Engineer is responsible for the safe and efficient servicing, maintenance and repairs within residential and commercial properties. They ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies to uphold the safety and functionality of gas systems.


What will you deliver?

- Conduct routine inspections and diagnostics of gas appliances and heating systems.


- Perform repairs and maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.


- Respond promptly to emergency repair requests and troubleshoot issues effectively.


- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts used and time spent.


- Provide technical guidance and support to other team members as needed.


- Liaise with clients and tenants to explain work required and provide maintenance advice.


- Any other reasonable management request.

Who are we looking for? 


- Gas Safe registration (Gas Safe ID).


- Relevant NVQ or City & Guilds qualifications in gas engineering (minimum level 3).


- Basic knowledge of Health & Safety regulations in Construction


- Experience in gas appliance installation, maintenance, and repair.


- Understanding of health and safety regulations pertaining to gas installations.


- Full UK driving license.


- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


- Previous experience in a similar role within the construction or property maintenance sector.


- Additional qualifications in plumbing or heating systems.


- Knowledge of building regulations and energy efficiency standards.
