Geography Teacher – Watford
Full-Time | Long-Term | Secondary School | Start Date: January 2026

A highly regarded secondary school in Watford, known for its inclusive ethos and commitment to academic excellence, is seeking a dedicated Geography Teacher to join their team from January 2026. The school is committed to fostering both academic and personal growth within a supportive and nurturing environment.

This long-term position involves teaching Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential for Key Stage 5 teaching, depending on the candidate’s experience. We welcome applicants with a passion for Geography and a strong desire to inspire students to understand the world around them.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Deliver engaging and high-quality lessons in Geography across KS3 and KS4, with potential involvement in KS5


  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students


  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to promote continuous improvement


  • Prepare students for GCSE exams with focused teaching, revision, and exam preparation sessions


  • Contribute to the development and planning of the Geography curriculum within the department


  • Create an inclusive and positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement


  • Uphold and implement the school’s behaviour policies to maintain effective classroom management


  • Contribute to extracurricular activities, field trips, and departmental initiatives


  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents to ensure student success and well-being



Candidate Profile:



  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent overseas teaching qualification


  • Degree in Geography or a closely related field


  • Proven experience teaching Geography at the secondary level


  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Geography education


  • Excellent communication skills and effective classroom leadership


  • Ability to differentiate lessons for a wide range of abilities and needs


  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students


  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
