Job Description

We’re looking for a high-performing Associate to join our Group Corporate Development function, working directly with the CEO, CFO, and Head of Group Corporate Development.

This is a developmental and analytical role for someone eager to build a career at the intersection of strategy, corporate development, transformation, and senior leadership with the opportunity to work directly with the C-suite of a FTSE 250 company on high-impact strategic and operational projects.

You’ll gain unique exposure to the workings of a listed company’s leadership team, helping shape and deliver key strategic and operational initiatives that drive AJ Bell’s continued success.

What You’ll Do

Strategic Research & Presentation Support

Create clear, insightful PowerPoint presentations and briefing packs for Board, ExCo, and senior leadership meetings. Conduct research on strategic, financial, operational, and industry topics. Analyse and summarise findings to support informed decision-making.

Project & Operational Delivery

Support delivery of AJ Bell’s FY26 corporate development and transformation workplan. Track progress on key initiatives and produce high-quality reports for stakeholders from Board to departmental level. Help coordinate operational, product, and change-related meetings and offsites.

Executive Coordination

Work closely with senior stakeholders across the business to gather data, insights, and updates for C-suite reporting. Ensure smooth communication flow and preparation for key meetings involving the CEO and CFO. Build a strong understanding of business priorities to anticipate needs and add proactive value.

About You

You’re a structured thinker, fast learner, and hands-on problem solver who can turn ideas into action. You enjoy working in a dynamic, intellectually stimulating environment and have the confidence to interact with senior leaders.

Essential Skills & Attributes

Advanced PowerPoint skills with a flair for clear, compelling presentation design. Strong analytical and Excel skills with a keen eye for detail. Excellent research and synthesis abilities – able to distil complex information quickly. Highly organised with exceptional follow-through and time management. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proactive, resourceful, and comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders.

Background & Experience

3–5 years’ experience in one of the following: Accounting or finance (e.g. ACA or equivalent), Management consulting, corporate strategy, or transformation. Legal, project management, or engineering with analytical focus. Experience in financial services or investment management is an advantage but not essential. Prior exposure to senior leadership or cross-functional initiatives is desirable.
