This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of technology at MS Amlin, a Lloyd’s syndicate with an ambitious vision for transformation. Working closely with the Director of Technology and Data, you’ll play a pivotal role in defining and delivering an IT & Cyber strategy that not only aligns with our business goals but also reimagines how technology supports our people, clients, and operations.

What you’ll spend your time doing:

Work in close collaboration with business unit leaders, conduct assessments to evaluate functional requirements, identify gaps and pain points, and deliver findings and propose comprehensive solutions to improve performance across the business Develop KPIs that underpin MS Amlin’s corporate objectives to control costs and increase productivity, coordinating efforts with various functional leaders such as the Underwriting, Claims, OpsCo Executives, Compliance, Legal, and Risk, among other stakeholders Assume responsibility for IT quality management, including setting the appropriate standards for control frameworks, quality assurance, processes, planning, defining, developing, and updating methods and ensure processes are documented and monitored as needed for regulatory purposes. Working with our procurement team, develop a robust vendor management approach to optimise the vendor selection process, manage costs, and ensure appropriate service, stability and return on investment Drive IT and Cyber change, including liaison with other MS&AD entities, vendors, Lloyd’s market participants and ensuring outcomes meet the business, regulatory and/or transformational requirements, building buy-in along the way Define the short, medium and long-term IT model for MS Amlin and drive modernisation of IT environment across business units, ensuring the safety, resilience, and control of all systems Own the technology, application and cyber resilience standards in line with Operational Resilience requirements, assessing and closing vulnerabilities within the value chain and ensuring recovery and back-up processes are robust, exercised and matured

Projects and Strategic Objectives

Lead effective IT and cyber standards, appetite and controls for the business, while ensuring a fit-for-purpose approach to cybersecurity aligned to MS AUL’s ecosystem and all regulatory requirements Plan and execute the application of technology strategies to business operations Lead engagement and delivery of simplification and control of estates within MS Amlin and with partners, including decommissioning, transition away from End-User-Computing Establish effective demand, supply and delivery frameworks.

Management & Leadership

Define, deliver and mature the technology, digital, AI and application vision and model, keeping pace with our Claims and Underwriting value propositions, market and regulatory developments. Focus on delivering stable, reliable, sustainable and insight-led solutions Establish service management framework across all partners, working in collaboration to ensure performance, stability, value and risk are controlled Collaborate with all cross-entity companies, strategic partners and market providers to achieve business targets, return on investment and manage expenses Act as a technology, operations, and transformation representative on Committees and at external meetings Manage the IT budget across people, vendors, and shared services, ensuring an optimised approach to cost control

What you’ll need:

A strong background in technology leadership, ideally gained in complex and regulated environments - experience within insurance or financial services is beneficial but not essential, as long as you bring a clear understanding of how technology drives business performance Extensive experience leading or shaping IT strategy, transformation, or innovation in complex, regulated environments Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence, challenge, and build trusted relationships across all levels of the organisation A collaborative approach, working effectively with both business and technical teams to deliver practical, value-driven solutions Comfort operating in a fast paced and evolving environment, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and balance multiple priorities while maintaining focus on strategic outcomes A proven track record of driving results through leadership, innovation, and strong stakeholder engagement
