Your contribution to Prysmian's Success:

We are looking for a Jointing Supervisor to join our team in Eastleigh. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that Prysmian’s high standards of jointing works are maintained on site through development and communications of jointing techniques.

This is a great opportunity for an individual that is looking to be less ‘hands on’ jointing and eager to use their gained knowledge and expertise. Travel will be required, typical travel could be a couple of days within a month. Weekend travel is very rare.

You will be responsible for:

Attending site to oversee and ensure good, safe practice.

Preparation and maintenance of ENG-DP-103, Jointing Section Procedures and of all Jointing Instructions.

Development, with personnel from the High Voltage Laboratory, of new jointing techniques and assisting the Cable Accessories department with the development of accessory drawings.

Preparation of tooling lists for each project, working with the Sales Office and Cable Accessories.

Attending initial jointing works on all major projects, to ensure that the information provided from Head Office is adequate, that the jointing works are being correctly performed and to lead the identification of the development of corrective solutions.

Attending project sites in the event of jointing problems, identifying the causes of problems, and leading the development of solutions.

Supporting the training functions of the Jointing School.

Supporting the Jointing Operations Manager

Representing the jointing function at meetings with customers, consultants and/or other parts of the Company.

You are the right fit if you have/are: 

Hold knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering as they apply to accessory design and assembly.

Extensive experience of preparing the full range of the Company’s joints, terminations and other accessories, with a wide variety of cables, including those from other suppliers.

Ability to be able to pass this knowledge, verbally and in writing to all levels of jointing personnel is essential.

Excellent communication and relationship building skills

Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
