Your contribution to Prysmian's Success:

We’re looking for a Materials Manager to join our site in Wrexham. You will lead the goods inwards team (team of 6) and be responsible for the forecasting, planning and procurement of materials and services to meet the sales and production requirements within the inventory constraints. Working closely with the planning department to ensure you have up to date Production forecasts.

You will be responsible for:

Health, Safety, and Environment: Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental policies always. Complete 6S audits, safety audits, inspections, and close out actions.

Customer Service: Delivery a high level of service to internal customers, namely, planning, operations & controlling. Support suppliers with queries etc

People Management: Manage the goods inwards team day to day. Responsibility for Training & Development. Performance and absence management. Time Management System and Disciplinary

Raw Material Forecasting: Driven by the management plan and 3M production forecast, using statistical analysis of historic data, determine and define and maintain the SAP RM forecast strategy, safety stocks, re-order point in SAP to facilitate the SAP forecasting tool

Procurement: Interpret MRP to order RM to facilitate the sales and production forecasts, maintain SAP Purchase Orders and receipt deliveries

Inventory Management: Responsible for the accuracy of raw material inventory, including FIFO, cycle counting, stock checks, adjustments and investigations to include the Material Balance process. Optimise RM inventory considering working capacity constraints. Prevent & reduce provisions

Continuous Improvement: Deliver continuous improvement projects to optimise the goods inwards department and cost reduction activities. Create and maintain operating procedures and standards to deliver improvements

Waste Management: Co-ordinate site raw material waste, organising collecting and invoicing

Supplier Management: Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and our purchasing team. Manage product and service issues, raising complaints & claims where necessary

You are the right fit if you have/are: 

Previous experience in a high-volume operational department and experience of managing a team within this environment.

Self-motivated with excellent communication skills.

Proven ability to lead, motivate, coordinate, and direct a team of operators to achieve departmental targets and objectives.

Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible to meet demanding deadlines.

Keen attention to detail. Computer literate with working knowledge of MS Office Applications and SAP and inventory management
