We are looking to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Technician/Fitter (2 Shift) at our cable manufacturing site on Wrexham Industrial Estate.

Working on our 2 shift roster - Monday to Friday only

Average working week of 37 hours

Days/Afternoons shift pattern rotating weekly

Week one - 7am-3pm Monday to Wednesday then 2pm - 10pm Thursday and 2pm - 9pm Friday.

Week Two - 2pm - 10pm Monday to Wednesday then 7am - 3pm Thursday and Friday.

Christmas shutdown

26 days holiday per year plus 8 bank holidays

The Job

Diagnosing, fault finding and repair of Medium/Heavy industrial plant and machinery.

Completing preventative maintenance checks and inspections.

Developing and implementing modifications to improved reliability of plant and machinery.

Working as a team with manufacturing and maintenance colleagues.

Ability to communicate effectively.

Working to a continuous shift pattern with necessary overtime to cover holidays.

Adherence to Health & Safety with absolute priority.

Lifting and handling plant and machinery components using appropriate equipment and techniques.

Qualifications/Experience

Time served with EITB/equivalent Certificate of Craftsmanship.

Hydraulic and pneumatic.

Welding and brazing.

Rigging of unbalanced loads.

Risk assessment and safety awareness, guarding of machinery legislation.

High pressure steam maintenance.

MS Office or equivalent.

Ability to read technical drawings.

Minimum of BTEC ONC level in Mechanical Engineering.

The Person

Time served with experience in all aspects of mechanical maintenance engineering and preferably experience of working in Manufacturing.

Self-motivated and must appreciate the demands of a 24/7 continuous production process with a keen to get the job finished attitude. Good team working and communication skills.
