Driver Hire London West is proud to be recruiting on behalf of an award-winning charity that has been supporting people with learning disabilities for over 60 years. We’re currently looking for a bus driver (Category D1 licence) to join their team in Harrow, providing safe and supportive transport for children and young people with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Safely transport children and young people (ages 5–25) between their homes and the charity centre in Harrow.


Work alongside passenger assistants, promoting a calm and reassuring environment during journeys.
Ensure the correct use of seatbelts, harnesses, and wheelchair restraints.
Conduct daily vehicle checks and keep the vehicle clean, safe, and roadworthy.
Follow safeguarding policies and maintain accurate journey and incident records.
Communicate clearly and professionally with children, families, and staff.

Requirements:


We’re looking for candidates who are dependable, caring, and committed to supporting children with additional needs. You will have:

A full UK driving licence with D1 entitlement (essential)


At least 2 years’ driving experience
A Paediatric First Aid certificate and MIDAS training are desirable (or a willingness to complete them).
A current enhanced DBS (or be willing to apply for one).
A calm and respectful manner.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
A commitment to safety, inclusion, and professionalism.
