EQUANS are looking for a Multiskilled Technician (Electrical) working on behalf of our Burnley General Teaching Hospital contract in Burnley. This role would be a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.


General Overview:


Help ensure compliance with statutory and company procedures, maintaining up to date knowledge of H&S and environmental regulations and helping us to achieve our H&S target.


Diagnose, fault-find, commission systems, monitor and assess ongoing machine/facility performance, through Planned Preventive Maintenance programme, identifying any additional works required.


Assist in installing, commissioning, and servicing plant, equipment and industrial furniture.


At all times maintain a smart appearance and professional manner that is representative of EQUANS in the workplace.


Carry out and assist in planned/reactive maintenance to on site systems.


Flexible working hours required which may include overtime working


Participate in the on-call rota.


Administer and complete relevant paperwork.


Fair, consistent, and courteous attitude in all dealings at all levels.


Ability to work under pressure, take ownership of problems and deal with them to their conclusion.


Ensure that all issues are reported to the Technical Services Supervisor/Technical Services Manager.

Impact:


The Electrician (Lead) as part of a team carries out electrical planned and reactive maintenance on all on site infrastructure.


To communicate regularly and effectively with clients and develop excellent professional working relationship to ensure a smooth running of the business.


To organise works allocated in a timely manner and work supportively with the team.


To submit clear and accurate reports.


To attend site out of hours as and when required on a rotational basis.


To carry out operational activities in a manner that ensures personal safety and in and manner that does not endanger the safety of others.


The position ensures that Equans are able to meet their statutory and contractual obligations whilst simultaneously providing an excellent service to our customers. The Engineer makes up part of the facilities maintenance team which contributes to the effective and efficient operation of the estate and associated engineering systems that is conducive for the delivery of healthcare

Complexity:


The maintenance engineer will complete engineering activities and undertake duties for which their trained and competent to do. There is an Estates management team based on site that can offer specialised technical advice and who can liaise with the appropriate levels of management to facilitate specialist isolations necessary to undertake certain engineering works.

Qualifications or Required Experience:


Candidate must be able to maintain, service and repair a wide range of the building services, some listed below: Training will be provided as necessary


Working with Lighting and Small Power.


Low voltage electrical distribution system and switchgear


Emergency standby generators


Fire alarm systems


General and Emergency lighting.


Building Management Systems, PTS System, UPS/IPS, Safety Sources.


Recognised Electrical apprenticeship and or qualifications.


Valid UK driving license and able to obtain DBS check.


To be an experienced Electrical system with a proven track record. Highly multi skilled individual in building services.


Fully qualified electrician; Qualified to IEE 17th /18th edition.


Testing and certification of electrical installations.


Basic computer literate.


Sound awareness of risk assessment and working safely with equipment.


Sound knowledge of Health & Safety


Experience of working within a Healthcare environment preferred but not essential.


Ability to follow instruction, work to plans (method statements), communicate, present and report technical information as appropriate to trade/skill.


Must have completed an electrical apprenticeship with relevant qualifications.


NVQ level 3 or equivalent.


AM2 - Desirable


City & Guilds Inspection & Testing or equivalent - Desirable
