Job Description

Operations Apprentice - 18 Month Fixed Term Contract

Start Date: ASAP

Location: Cramlington, Northumberland

Salary/Shift Allowance: £15,704 per annum. You will also be eligible to receive a shift allowance of 25% per annum less PAYE deductions if you commence shift working.

Hours: 40 hours per week, working on a 12 hour shift pattern

We have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Apprentice at our factory in Cramlington, to join our Operations Team. 

The purpose of the role is to make certain that the Cramlington Site is satisfying its internal and external customers through the following:

Undertaking a variety of production tasks which could include the operation of paper slitting machinery/automated packing line, picking and returning material from stock and inventory control, packing and fork-truck driving. Working as part of a team, the Operations Apprentice will be required to support and contribute towards the drive for continuous improvement and support departmental improvement initiatives encompassing People; Safety; Quality; Service & Cost. 

Your mission

  • Make safety number one priority at all times
  • Ensure 100% support of Behavioural Safety Programme and active support across the shift
  • Be an effective member of the Team in line with business goals via daily supervision and the application of the Avery Dennison GPS process
  • Demonstrate excellent teamwork with counterparts on other shifts and other key contacts within the Plant and Avery Dennison organisation
  • Support and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the shift in line with key quality targets i.e. Quality Index; Customer Complaints; Quality Audit Schedules
  • Work closely with Process Engineering and Quality department to identify and address main drivers affecting quality and implement solutions
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to drive key service metrics i.e. flexibility; reliability; volume flexibility
  • Work closely with Engineering to ensure effective support and maintenance around critical production assets

You will be enrolled onto a Level 2 LMO Apprenticeship course
