We have an exciting opportunity for you as a Procurement Specialistbased at our Derby site, working for one of our largest customers.
Job Opportunity
Joining our team as a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for identifying new suppliers and managing and building those relationships, ensuring supplier performance is maintained in line with agreed KPIs to maximise customer satisfaction.
You will also be responsible for:
- Process purchase requisitions
- Identifying new suppliers, managing purchasing contracts and suppliers
- Purchasing equipment, consumables and controlling overhead cost
- Assisting with negotiating prices
- Reporting on vendor spend
- Build relationships with new and existing suppliers
- Input information into the management system for analysis and reporting
- Dealing with client and supplier queries
Essential Skills
- Technical purchasing experience with the ability to assimilate technical information
- Excellent understanding of purchasing practices, export control, and managing suppliers
- A proven track record in developing a good working relationship with suppliers
- MCIPS qualification or working towards or relevant experience
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent telephone manner and communication skills
- Experience of working with minimum supervision in a busy and demanding environment
- Organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
