Vacancy Type: Fixed Term (3-6 months), Full-time and based onsite.
Salary: £25,000 per annum + Discretionary Bonus

​At NP Aerospace, you will specifically support the Vehicle Systems, Services and Spares (VSSS) Team and the global expansion of our military vehicle engineering and technical services operation. This part of the business specializes in complete vehicle integration and support solutions, including the Protected Mobility Engineering Technical Support (PMETS) contract which places NP Aerospace as engineering authority for the UK Ministry of Defence protected mobility fleet including Mastiff, Ridgeback, Wolfhound, Foxhound, Jackal and Coyote.

The Quality Inspector will carry out a wide variety of duties including: -

  • Goods in and Goods out inspections to ensure supplied and in house manufactured products confirm to drawing and other documentation.
  • General Quality Control Activities including patrol and batch inspection.
  • Input, recording and monitoring of Quality Traceability Data.
  • Report / communicate quality performance.
  • Work closely with the production team and support continuous improvement.
    This role is based onsite and is a Fixed Term Appointment for 3 to 6 months with possible extensions.
    It's essential that you have a Driving Licence and access to a vehicle to undertake certain elements of the role.

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
    The Quality Inspectors main responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Assure identified standards, specifications and procedures have been met.
  • Utilise appropriate tools, gauges, and measurement equipment.
  • Utilise acquired competence through existing knowledge, training and / or mentoring to carry out basic product conformity inspection against drawing or other specified documentation.
  • Report findings for product conformity regarding equipment, methods, specifications, inspection methodologies and tolerances etc.
  • Review traceability data and report as appropriate.
  • Carry out process audits if required.
  • Use of Statistical Process Control for product conformity where required.
  • Objectively report on compliance status including inspection to the NPA management.
  • Approve product for release.
  • Raise non-conformance reports, control, and segregate non-conforming material.
  • Communicate to appropriate levels on product conformity results.
    EXPERIENCE
    Working Knowledge of ISO 9001: 2015
    Working knowledge of inspection techniques
    Competent user of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
    Working knowledge of current Health and Safety and Environmental legislation.
    ​Knowledge of AQAP standards and associated Def Stans, Def Cons an advantage but not essential as training will be provided
