Cromwell Hospital is seeking a dynamic and experienced Radiology Service Manager to lead and grow our Radiology department, encompassing General X-Ray, CT, MRI, Fluoroscopy, and Bone Densitometry services. This is a strategic and operational leadership role, ideal for someone passionate about clinical excellence, service innovation, and team development.

You’ll have demonstrable experience and capabilities in clinical service management at a senior level in a large complex health environment to include, staff, financial and change management.

You’ll be responsible for driving performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering high-quality patient care. Working closely with the Medical Director and senior stakeholders, you’ll shape the future of radiology services in our flagship private hospital.

About The Cromwell Hospital

The Cromwell Hospital is a major international private hospital in West London receive both UK and international patients. We are committed to providing the highest quality healthcare outpatient and inpatient service care. The hospital has 180 beds and 4 suites, medical and surgical wards, heart and lung centre, chemotherapy day unit, level 2 and 3 adult intensive care facilities, paediatrics, physiotherapy, a dedicated day surgery unit, and a new extended state-of-the-art cath lab, theatres and diagnostic departments.

Our new modern Radiography department is equipped with the latest state-of-the-art technology to include;

Two general X-Ray rooms

One fluoroscopy suite, which can also be utilised as an additional X-Ray room

One Cone Beam CT scanner

One Bone Density scanner with advanced body composition analysis capabilities

Two state-of-the-art mobile X-Ray units

Four theatre image intensifiers

Four ultrasound rooms

In addition to this we have:

Three MRI scanners (including one mobile unit) and a pending 3T installation due to go live Q2 2026.

A nuclear medicine department with a gamma camera and PETCT scanner (and a pending new gamma camera due for installation Q4 2026).

A mammography suite with international capabilities.

How you’ll help us make health happen:

Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the UK clinical regulatory environment, with proven experience ensuring compliance with frameworks such as CQC and IR(ME)R.

Experience as a budget holder, with the ability to authorise capital and revenue expenditure within agreed limits and manage resources effectively.

Proven track record in identifying cost efficiencies and implementing strategies that support financial sustainability and service growth.

Strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to review, develop, and execute plans that drive service expansion and profitability.

Effective leadership and line management experience, including coaching and developing staff, and working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

State Registered Radiographer with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC), and Radiographic qualification. (essential)

Substantial post graduate experience in radiology at a senior level. (essential)

Membership of appropriate professional body and/or clinical interest group

Able to demonstrate capability and capacity for clinical service management at a senior level in a large, complex healthcare environment, including staff management, financial management and change management. (essential)

Able to demonstrate success in delivering change and performance. (essential)
