We’re looking for a qualified accountant with Lloyd’s reporting experience to lead our Lloyd’s reporting team

Our reporting to Lloyd’s is vital to our company’s reputation. Through your in-depth knowledge and experience, plus your ability to work with your team members, you will help enhance the quality and efficiency of our reporting to Lloyd’s, and collaborate with colleagues across our financial planning and performance team to drive value for our business

What you’ll spend your time doing:

While there is rarely a typical day, here’s a snapshot of some of the key parts of the job:

Lead the Lloyd’s reporting team in the production of quarterly, half yearly and annual Lloyd’s regulatory returns, including Solvency II Pillar 3 reporting, overseeing accurate and timely production Deliver production of all syndicate reporting in line with regulatory requirements and complying with the appropriate accounting standards; Live the concepts of insight, challenge and curiosity every day Continuously seeking to improve, champion and deliver right-first-time information by challenging and developing underlying tools and processes, identifying opportunities for transformation and driving execution Within this, drive collaboration to partner with colleagues across finance and the wider MS Amlin business – both for process and tooling development and to support understanding (and where appropriate challenge) of business performance Develop and maintain relationships with colleagues in the Lloyd’s corporation to support MS Amlin’s contribution to reporting considerations in the wider Lloyd’s market Collaborate with colleagues with the Strate, Financial Planning and Performance function in production of high quality MI, ad hoc analysis and Board papers, providing insight to senior stakeholders including the MS AUL CFO, Chair of the Audit Committee and Head of Strategy, Financial Planning and Performance.

Further specifics:

Ownership of all regulatory reporting outputs for the syndicates, including QMA, QMB, QSR, SII, QF1/AF1, RRQ/A, US Reporting, Canadian Reporting, FCA/PRA reporting, statutory accounts, distribution files, taxation reporting, working closely with the wider finance team to put the supporting information together Keep up-to-date with changes to regulatory reporting requirements for the Lloyd’s syndicate and all relevant accounting standards, including all department functions with responsibility for Lloyd’s deliverables. Lead the development and production of internal MI and analytical memos supporting individual reports to Lloyd’s Provide support and guidance for the wider Finance team in the recording of technical and non-technical transactions in the relevant ledgers of the Syndicate, Managing Agency and Corporate member. Lead the delivery of ad-hoc reporting requirements/requests to support the CFO, Lloyd’s, PRA, Auditors and Board members. Preparation of audit files for management reviews and external auditors, maintaining a professional relationship. Work cross-functionally with parties involved in the delivery of regulatory returns, in particular Finance Operations, Actuarial and wide Strategy and FP&A team, to ensure the end result is delivered in the timeframe and within standards required. Oversee the end-to-end production of statutory accounts for group companies, including the corporate member, liaising with internal technical experts and external auditors. Manage the timely production of reports ensuring that they are in accordance with relevant timetables and there is sufficient time for in-depth management reviews. Keeping up with all technical aspects affecting the production of syndicate returns.

What you’ll need:

Qualified accountant – CIMA/ACCA/ACA Technical accounting knowledge relevant to the Lloyd’s sector (UK GAAP and IFRS 17) Experience of Lloyd’s regulatory returns; substantial experience will be beneficial Strong knowledge of Solvency II and Solvency UK reporting requirements is preferred Ability to deliver results to deadline Advanced experience of using core MS Office applications in particular Excel
