Sales Assistant – Builders Merchants (Full Time, Permanent)

Location: Crewe
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:00am – 5:00pm & Saturday 7:00am – 12:00pm
Type: Full-Time, Permanent


Pay Rate: Starting at £12.21ph


Are you customer-focused, hands-on, and have a good understanding of construction materials? We are a recruitment agency working on behalf of a well-established local builders merchants who are looking to expand their team with a Sales Assistant.


The Role:


As a Sales Assistant, you’ll be the first point of contact for trade and retail customers, providing friendly and knowledgeable support on a wide range of construction products. You’ll also assist with loading and unloading goods, so a practical, can-do attitude is a must.


Key Responsibilities:


Greeting and assisting customers in the yard and trade counter




Advising on products and offering basic technical knowledge




Processing sales and handling customer enquiries




Helping load materials into customer vehicles (manual handling involved)




Keeping the yard and sales area clean and well-organised



Assisting the team at the Congleton branch when required (advanced notice given)

About You:


Ideally, you’ll have a basic knowledge of building/construction products




Comfortable with manual handling and working in an outdoor/yard environment




Confident with customer interaction and a strong team player




Punctual, reliable, and committed to full-time hours
