This is a Hybrid working role with a requirement to attend our Farringdon office, with flexibility required in line with business needs.

We are seeking an experienced Sales Development Manager with a specific skillset associated with International selling, critical in driving a perception change that will deliver incremental revenue growth. Reporting into the Head of Export Sales, this role is responsible for targeted International development and prioritisation activity across multiple sales teams and customer sectors.

 

About the role 
•    Agrees, develops, and deploys strategic and targeted interventions (e.g., pipeline management, upskilling, product collateral dissemination) to support seven International Business Development Managers, c.35 International Champions, and the broader salesforce (c300), ensuring a sharp focus on international export growth opportunities
•    Owns, refines, and continuously improves the performance management framework, ensuring alignment and collaboration between RM International Commercial and Sales teams
•   Ensures that critical market intelligence and insights are accessible and actionable, enabling the International and Sales teams to focus on high-opportunity, high-risk, and high-growth areas
•    Provides clear strategic direction and establishes areas of focus for the network of c35 International Champions, while driving alignment with 30+ Sales Team Managers to unify international and domestic sales efforts
•    Leverages insights, market trends, and sales analytics to define and prioritise key international focus areas, collaborating closely with Sales Leadership to execute effectively
•    Designs and leads tailored interventions for specific customer segments, such as SMEs, marketplaces, key accounts, RM, and PFW, driving impactful and measurable outcomes
•    Tracks and owns the commercial revenue impact of activities, contributing to a revenue target of c£300m, with a focus on prioritising profitable and scalable initiatives

 

About you 
To truly excel in the role, you will possess the necessary skills and experience listed below -

 

•    Confident and dynamic, able to deliver compelling and effective interventions to diverse sales teams with varying levels of experience, while tailoring interventions and analyses to the unique needs of each customer sector

•     Possesses a strong commercial acumen, with deep understanding of the sales cycle, customer motivations and drivers, and how to generate profitable growth through strategic budgeting and operational management
•     Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence a wide variety of audiences, including senior directors, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders
•     Comprehensive understanding of the broader IDS business, including its markets, customers, and the operational structure of sales processes and organisations
•     Skilled in setting realistic yet challenging KPIs, with a focus on monitoring and evaluating the impact of interventions to continually refine and improve outcomes
•     Self-motivated and proactive, with a willingness to take ownership of their own performance while fostering a culture of growth and accountability across the teams they support

Next Steps
