We have an exciting opportunity for aSenior Chemsex Workerto join our passionate and dedicated Camden team. In this role, you will provide support to LGBTQiA+ individuals that are experiencing difficulties with club drug use and supporting those engaged in chemsex.
We are looking for someone with the experience, knowledge and ability to work with the complexities that often present for this cohort. The worker will hold a small/medium size caseload, and foster relationships with relevant partners, providing in-reach at specialist NHS services. It is therefore imperative that the worker has excellent communication skills based on experience of working with or within NHS trusts.

Full Time Hours:37.5 per week
Full Time Salary:£31,529.41 - £33,708.57 Dependent on experience (based on full time hours, pro rata for part time)
Allowances:£4,072.06 Inner London Weighting, pro rata
Contract type:Fixed term for 12 months
Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
• Support individuals engaging in or impacted by those engaged in Chemsex
• Co-develop and deliver workshops covering ham reduction and relapse prevention skills specific to LGBTQiA+ individuals engaging in Chemsex
• Deliver outreach and support at partner locations, including local sexual health services, live sex venues and LGBTQiA+ community venues
• Build relationships and collaborations within the sexual health and drug & alcohol sector
• Deliver assessments and care planning to support LGBTQIA+ individuals in meeting individual goals
To excel in this role, you should embody or have proven understanding of:
• Risk reduction (. GBL dependency or overdose and Crystal meth & mephedrone)
• Short & long-term mental health issues associated with Chemsex drugs
• Short & long-term physical health issues associated with Chemsex drugs
• Specific knowledge of the substance use and sexual health needs of LGBTQiA+ individuals
• How to advise people on reducing chems use.
• The indicators for inpatient detox.
• Good practice in supporting relapse prevention.
• Stigma and mindful, sensitive communication
• Legal implications, where relevant.
• Demonstrable relevant experience in crisis support/intervention, key working/case management, group facilitation and peer-led interventions.
• Experience in the field of substance misuse or a related field is preferred but we will welcome applications from all backgrounds if you share our values and are committed to learn.
• Have a flair for developing productive multidisciplinary relationships.
• Experience of defining, developing, implementing, and evaluating interventions and services.
• An ability to collaborate with people from a wide range of backgrounds in a variety of settings in a respectful and empowering way.
