Our client, a leading geoscience consultancy in the renewables sector, is currently seeking a Senior Geoscientist to join their team in Faringdon, Oxfordshire. This permanent, full-time position focuses on offshore windfarm projects, geotechnical analysis, and wider offshore geoscience consultancy. If you have a strong background in offshore geophysical, geotechnical, and geological datasets, this role offers an exciting opportunity to work in the dynamic renewables industry.Key Responsibilities:Offshore Consultancy - Technical (50%)Review, process and interpret offshore geophysical and geotechnical datasetsDevelop engineering geological desk studies and ground modelsGeotechnical parameterisationGeohazard identificationCable burial risk assessmentTechnical reportingGIS-based geoprocessing, database management, figure and chart creationWriting of geophysical and geotechnical survey specifications and scopes of workOffshore vessel-based client representationGeodata Acquisition - Technical (20%)Prepare health and safety documentationAcquire and process aerial photogrammetric and LiDAR dataAcquire and process aerial and terrestrial magnetometer dataAcquire and process UAV bathymetry dataCompile operational, factual, and interpretative reportsTechnical and Commercial Tendering (10%)Team Supervision and Project/Financial Management (10%)Provide technical supervision of a small team of geoscientists on a project-by-project basisPerform project management duties, including deadline management, financial tracking, and budget managementBusiness Development and Day-to-Day Business Operations (10%)Develop and promote new services, processes, and workflowsPromote services at conferences, exhibitions, and client meetingsMaintain website and social media sitesAssist with ongoing maintenance and improvement of the integrated management system (quality, OHS, and environment)Job Requirements:Experience in reviewing and interpreting offshore geophysical, geotechnical, and geological datasetsDeveloping engineering geological desk studies and ground modelsGeotechnical and geophysical survey best practiceGeospatial data management, geoprocessing, and interrogation in ArcGIS (or QGIS)Technical report writing and communication skillsDeveloping concise and easy-to-understand report figures and chartsIndependent working, attention to detail, and strong self-checking abilitiesBeneficial experience includes:Experience in derivation of geotechnical parameter boundsExperience in IHS Kingdom, SonarWiz, and CorelDrawOnshore survey experience (GNSS, total stations, laser scanning, and CAD)Photogrammetry and LiDAR data processingBathymetry data processingBenefits:PensionCompany bonus schemeParking available at the officeIf you are an experienced geoscientist looking to advance your career in the renewables sector, we would love to hear from you.
