DERM is deployed at more than 25 NHS organisations where we're supporting dermatology teams to build sustainable services that enable patients to gain quicker access to skin cancer diagnosis. If that's not enough, we also collaborate with some of the largest health insurers to reach patients in their own homes.

🔎 As the Software Infrastructure Engineer you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Skin Analytics' AWS infrastructure to ensure the reliable, secure, and scalable delivery of AI-supported skin cancer diagnosis services and other products. The role focuses on building tools to support developers, implementing monitoring, logging, alerting, and automation systems, while enhancing CI/CD pipelines and applying DevOps best practices to support the company's growing client base and regulatory compliance requirements.

 

​Key Responsibilities

  • Cloud & Infrastructure - design and implement cloud native solutions on AWS that are scalable, resilient and secure.
  • Infrastructure management - transform through elegant infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  • Automate deployment pipelines - create to make our technology faster, more reliable and more efficient.
  • Develop high performance applications - using JavaScript, Node.js and TypeScript.
  • Create clean maintainable code - to drive our platforms performance and scalability.
  • Cross functional collaboration - working to optimise backend services and APIs and building relationships across the rest of tech and all business units.
  • DevOps innovation  - working with the Lead DevOps Engineer to revolutionise our deployment, monitoring and infrastructure strategies.

Requirements

☑️ We want to hear from you if you

Have experience in:

• JavaScript, Node.js, and TypeScript proficiency

• Extensive AWS cloud services experience

• Terraform expertise for Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

• CI/CD pipeline implementation (specifically Bitbucket Pipelines)

• Experience with React and React Native

• Automation scripting abilities

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication abilities

• Collaborative team-oriented approach

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Proactive mindset for continuous improvement

• Attention to detail (particularly important for medical device infrastructure)

• Ownership your work

• Medical device regulatory compliance knowledge (ISO 13485, 27001)

Skin Analytics manufactures medical devices and complies with ISO standards 13485 and 27001. As part of your employment, you will be assigned Quality Management System (QMS) and Information Security Management System (ISMS). We require that our employees agree to complete their assigned training and diligently follow all company quality management and information security processes.​​

*The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence has recommended DERM for use within the NHS until May 2028, while further evidence is gathered.
