To build on success and to grow into new sectors, we are looking for a Stakeholder Engagement Manager to join us. Working on one of the country’s most important infrastructure projects – the Lower Thames Crossing, you’ll lead stakeholder communications.
From water to green energy, we see huge opportunities to bring our skills and expertise to new clients in infrastructure and development across the UK and Ireland. We need the right person to help us achieve that. Working with colleagues, existing and new clients you’ll help us grow, while also leading on bids and project delivery.
This is an exciting role working with senior leaders across our business to driver growth and work directly with our clients.
Your key responsibilities will be:
To work as part of COWI UK’s External Affairs and Consents practice to support existing project and clients and secure work with new projects and clients
Work closely with clients to develop and implement stakeholder engagement strategies and plans.
Lead on engagement with a broad range of stakeholder including local, regional and national political stakeholders, local authorities, businesses and communities.
Develop bid and fee proposals to support work winning activities
Build relationships with Sector Leads and Heads of Discipline to ensure the External Affairs and Consents team’s capabilities feed into bid proposals
Integrate business development activities with COWI UK for the specific sector focus areas, working closely with the wider BD team including Regional BD Director and Market Directors
Support the capture and bid processes for both major and regional sized project opportunities, working closely with technical staff and the Bid Support Team
Contributing to the development and implementation of strategies and actions plans to support business growth in the specific focus areas
Contributing to identifying technical development areas to maximise opportunities for growth
To hold Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HSW) as a key programme value and to participate in the creation, development, and implementation of HSW strategies by the programme leadership team

On top of that, you’ll have:
Experience of developing and implementing stakeholder engagement strategies and plans
Have a proven track record in business development and work winning in stakeholder and communications sector in the built environment industry.
Experience of working close with clients to anticipate, manage and meet the requirements
Proven track record of influencing key political, business, local authority and community stakeholders.
Have excellent client and partner trust-based relationship building skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, and to identify, develop and maintain a strong network with those stakeholders.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to schedule work, deliver to tight deadlines, respond to changing situations and use personal initiative.
Microsoft Office skills, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
