The job itself

The individual who will receive this 1-1 support has a diagnosis of Autism and general development delay. We are looking for an enthusiastic person, with the ability to plan and encourage this young person to engage in activities. This would be in a variety of areas such as leisure, sport, health and wellbeing, life skills and community activities etc. The successful person will be passionate about providing the best service possible. They will be proactive in helping the young man to maintain his independence and be able to respond positively to his change in needs.

The successful candidate will need to complete The Care Certificate on commencement of the post unless already completed. This will be provided by the ERYC and will take approximately 12 weeks. NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in care would be desirable. All other relevant training will be provided.

Candidates should have the necessary written and verbal communication skills to ensure that we are working to a high standard. Record keeping and report writing - both electronic and handwritten are an important part of the role. Training will be provided for this.

Staff will be required to wear PPE as identified by our risk assessments and ERYC guidelines when working in the day service or the community.

The provision of the service is constantly changing and the successful candidate will be enthusiastic, able to show imagination and initiative and work in a flexible manner as we aim to provide the best service possible.
