Police Scotland are expanding our capabilities across Digital Division, from our Data Science team to transformational digital projects. This expansion will allow us to develop and deploy solutions that digitally enable our Staff and Officers, deliver proactive capability and innovate responsibly to meet policing challenges. As a Data Engineer, you will work in partnership with other technical experts to design, build and deploy sustainable and robust data integration processes. Ensuring that data is accurate, accessible, reliable, scalable and trusted is vital in supporting operational decision making and is the foundation of advanced analytics. Identifying, appraising and integrating new data sources will enable us to remain agile in the face of future challenges. You will be expected to engage with and provide subject area expertise to a range of policing areas in relation to data engineering. You will assist with the scoping of problems and collation of requirements, utilising your experience and skills to suggest best practice approaches to building or reformulating data pipelines. You will look to automate where possible, provide appropriate documentation and communicate timeframes and bottlenecks clearly. You will be required to conduct all work in a manner that is transparent, secure and ethical.
