Due to continued success and considerable growth across the business, we are looking for aGraduateLand Surveyorto join the team and support our teams who provide services to clients across Power, Water, Telecoms and Transport. To utilise and develop own technical skills to assist the Land Surveying team to carry out land surveys, data collection and setting out for large scale, fast paced utility, and infrastructure projects across the country.

As a Graduate Land Surveyor you will:

  • Assist with the preparation of data for site survey work
  • Travel to a variety of sites across the country to undertake surveys, collect geospatial data and set out works on behalf of DM and their clients, using GNSS, Total Station, Laser Scanning, Drone/UAV, Electromagnetic Location and Ground Penetrating Radar equipment
  • Take a proactive approach to processing survey data in line with departmental best practice
  • Produce maps and plans in support of a wide range of fast paced projects, on time and within budget to maintain company standard
  • Working in collaboration with the team, obtain, manage and analyse data from range of sources including the Land Registry, Ordnance Survey, Environment Agency, Local Authorities and Utility companies to best inform our advice and service to clients
  • Be responsible in the maintenance and calibration procedures of the survey equipment and organisational policies and requirements
  • Work under guidance, on projects and requests, ensuring requirements and objectives are met, building positive relationships and taking ownership of the standard of work
  • Be commercially aware, maintain good records, including meeting notes, expense claims and comprehensive file updates and records of activities to provide regular client updates


The successful candidate will:

  • Have an awareness of Land Surveying principles is preferable, though not essential
  • Have an awareness of Geomatics practices is preferable, though not essential
  • Great IT skills with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to manage a large amount of both quantitative and qualitative data
  • Be comfortable meeting people on-site - colleagues, clients, landowners and other stakeholders
  • Have excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Have a full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to site and project locations
  • Be a team player and have a can-do attitude
