About the Role

We’re looking for an Account Development Executive to join Whistl, where you’ll manage and grow a portfolio of over 200 customers, identifying new opportunities, re-engaging lapsed clients, and helping us deliver first-class postal and parcel solutions.

Job Opportunity

As an Account Development Executive, you’ll be responsible for managing an assigned customer portfolio, ensuring retention, growth, and profitability. You’ll plan and prioritise sales activity, identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling across Whistl’s full product range. You’ll also re-engage with lapsed customers and convert leads into long-term partnerships.

Key Responsibilities


  • Manage a portfolio of 200+ customers, delivering agreed revenue, margin, and volume targets.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships as the primary point of contact.
  • Identify and convert new business opportunities within existing and lapsed accounts.
  • Negotiate and agree pricing and service terms in line with company objectives.
  • Develop customer and sector-specific plans to achieve growth and retention targets.
  • Liaise with internal teams to ensure operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and provide timely reports on activity and forecasts.
  • Stay up to date on Whistl’s product portfolio and market trends.
  • Prepare and support in contractual negotiations and pricing reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with company processes and represent Whistl professionally.


Essential Skills

You’ll be a confident communicator and relationship builder with strong commercial awareness and a genuine passion for customer success. You’ll have a proactive mindset and the ability to work independently while contributing to team goals.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in account development, sales, or business development, with at least two years’ relevant experience or equivalent education and training.
  • Proven record of achieving or exceeding sales and growth targets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical and numeracy skills, including the ability to analyse data and draw relevant conclusions. 
  • Experience using CRM systems to manage accounts and pipeline activity.
  • Ability to prioritise multiple work requirements and meet deadlines.
  • Education to A-Level standard or equivalent.


Additional Requirements:

  • Comfortable with extensive telephone and written communication.
  • Willing to travel occasionally within the UK.


Monday to Friday 9 am - 5,30 with hybrid working opportunities
