First People Solutions require an enthusiastic, dedicated Apprentice Payroll Administrator to join our established fast paced team. This role is ideally suited to a logically minded candidate with volume administration and payroll experience. They should possess excellent reconciliation and organisational skills and be confident dealing directly with internal and external senior management. Throughout this job role you will gain hands-on experience in payroll processing while working towards a nationally recognized qualification. This is an excellent opportunity to start your career in finance and administration within a supportive and dynamic recruitment company.

Key Tasks

Assist in the preparation and processing of weekly and monthly payrolls
Maintain accurate employee records including timesheets, holiday entitlements, and absences
Support the reconciliation of payroll data and resolve discrepancies
Respond to payroll-related queries from employees and external stakeholders
Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and company policies
Learn to use payroll software and systems effectively
Collaborate with the finance and HR teams to support wider administrative tasksKey skills required for role

Excellent numerical skills
A working knowledge of windows based financial packages, strong Excel knowledge and good IT skills are vital for this position
Ability to work under pressure and meeting tight accounts deadlines are key to this position.
A high level of interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to maintain confidential information is essential

The right candidate will be proficient in the above areas, confident communicating with colleagues at all levels within the organization and able to simplify detailed financial information so that it is easily understood by candidates/clients. They will continually strive to improve processes affecting their role and that of their colleagues and will be confident and persuasive when presenting these changes to the board.
