About the Team
Join our dynamic Arborist teams and be a part of a team dedicated to maintaining the tree stock across the county. We are looking for a skilled and passionate climbing Arborist to carry out a variety of arboriculture and some forestry projects for both internal and external clients.
About the role
As an Arborist, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of tree care tasks to a high standard, ensuring the health and safety of our trees and the public. Your work will include felling, dismantling, rigging, pruning, and crown cleaning among other duties. Working within the Highway, on county school sites, parks, nature reserves, and some private property. Based in Henley in Arden with daily travel to work sites across the whole county.
Key Requirements
- Perform arboriculture works to BS3998:2010 standards, including tree planting, pruning, crown lifting, and more.
- Work at heights of up to 100ft using arboricultural specific rope access equipment to perform dismantling, rigging, pruning, habitat creation, and aerial inspections (under guidance of the Tree Inspector and/or Ecologist).
- Operating MEWPs on various sites.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain and inspect climbing equipment.
- Maintain and inspect chainsaws and other tools.
- Operate vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes and tow trailed equipment up to 3.5 tonnes.
- Use and maintain various items of plant including chippers, skid steer, stump grinder, and small HIAB type crane.
- React to safety concerns and deputise for Team Leads when necessary.
- Identify protected species and habitats, and understand their impact on tree works.
- Chapter 8 Lighting, Signing and Guarding to make safe work zone.
- Regular outdoor work, including working at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Manual handling and use of vibrating tools/machinery.
- Compliance with health and safety policies and procedures.
