Job Title:Assistant Financial Controller

Company Overview

Position overview:

An exciting new role has opened within our Sunderland JIT Plant as Assistant Financial Controller.

Reporting directly to the Plant Controller, you will oversee providing financial accounting information, compatible with Lear Systems, to agreed deadlines and to support the Financial Controller in the areas of financial reports preparation and financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparation of management reports to include forecast – v – actual


Run month end process including accruals for Sales, commercial issues, CPI etc.
Assist the Financial Controller in all aspects of corporate and internal reporting to ensure adherence to timetables and financial integrity.
Prepare and load TB and statistical information into the HFM consolidation system
Fixed asset management
Responsible for year end audit pack and to assist the external auditors
Complete full balance sheet reconciliations for several Balance sheet items, providing evidence of all transactions to SOX standards
Review balance sheet reconciliations that have been produced by Management Accountant
Support Accounts Assistant & Management Accountant and cover in their absence
Analyse profit and loss and balance sheet to ensure financial integrity is maintained
Conduct standard cost maintenance to ensure all material items carry up to date purchase order values
Provide assistance to finance team in resolving ACP queries to maintain prompt processing of supplier invoices.
Prepare forecast information – Income statement and balance sheet preparation and load into HFM system
Prepare key information for weekly R&O submission.
Take part in SOX aspects (self audit, IQA and narratives)
Run the Bi-annual stock checks in conjunction with the materials manager
Provide cover for the financial controller when offsite
Weekly cash flow forecast, prepare changes vs prior week for financial controller review and update in HFM system (CVS application)
Manage process improvements within finance department.
Complete Monthly BOM Audit
Monthly analysis of Price variances
Review purchasing saves documentation and confirm to purchasing. Prepare monthly analysis for stat reporting.

Key skills and Qualifications:

5 years’ experience in a financial role


BPCS experience
Manufacturing experience or Automotive experience
Microsoft Excel – Advanced
CIMA or ACCA, or part qualified or actively studying
Month end reporting experience
Forecast preparation experience
