Amazon OpsTech Design Execution Team is seeking an experienced BIM Technician with a focus on Telecoms, Electrical, Low Voltage Systems Design. The successful candidate will join our global team, working on AutoCAD and Revit-based design for IT networking infrastructure projects. With a keen eye for detail, you will be responsible for executing design projects, updating standard details, and collaborating with the Project Management team to establish BIM requirements and standards. While not essential, a background in IT infrastructure systems, including structured cabling, is highly desirable.

As a team player, you'll deliver results on time and within budget. You should be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment, demonstrating strong judgment and negotiation skills. This role is part of the highly creative and efficient ODX team, concentrating on telecoms design optimization and vendor management.

The ideal candidate will be proficient with BIM360, Revit, and Autodesk tooling, with a proven ability to work in both 2D and 3D environments. Familiarity with blocks, elements, families, and template creation is crucial. Your agility and effective multi-tasking skills will be put to use as you manage multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously.

Key job responsibilities
You must be able to work independently with occasional guidance and work within a team environment to accomplish assigned tasks. Your duties will include:

* Create and modify complex 3D Revit models for telecom infrastructure projects
* Develop and maintain Revit families specific to telecom equipment and systems
* Generate accurate 2D drawings and documentation from 3D Revit models
* Implement and enforce BIM standards and best practices across projects
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate telecom designs with other building systems
* Perform clash detection and resolution within Revit models
* Create and manage schedules and quantity take-offs for telecom components
* Utilize Dynamo for automation of repetitive tasks and custom workflows in Revit
* Manage and update project templates and content libraries in Revit
* Coordinate with external stakeholders using BIM 360 for model sharing and collaboration
* Produce high-quality renderings and visualizations
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex modeling issues within Revit
* Assist in the development of custom Revit add-ins or scripts to enhance productivity
* Participate in BIM coordination meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions
* Contribute to the development of best practices and standards for telecom design for Amazon Fulfilment
* Participate in knowledge sharing sessions and internal training programs

As a BIM Technician specializing in Telecoms Design, your work will primarily revolve around Autodesk Revit, but your impact will extend far beyond. One day, you might find yourself immersed in designing the IT infrastructure for a state-of-the-art robotics facility, ensuring seamless connectivity and optimal performance. The next, you could be templatizing designs for a drone site, standardizing processes to improve efficiency across multiple projects. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders, both internal Amazon teams and external vendors, spanning the globe. About the team
ODX provide IT Telecommunications (Telecom) infrastructure design expertise and solutions across all Amazon Operations customers including Fulfillment, Transportation, and Logistics programs. Our mission is to improve the quality of physical deployments in line with OTS engineering standards, reduce time to deploy and post deployment defects. We drive technical excellence, automation and standardization, delivering cost efficiencies within the end-to-end design and deployment process.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

* Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
* Experience working with Autodesk Revit in a professional environment
* Autodesk Certified Professional - Revit.
* Proficiency in creating and modifying complex 3D models and 2D drawings using Revit
* Experience with BIM 360 or similar cloud-based collaboration platforms
* Demonstrated knowledge of low voltage, electrical and IT designs principles and best practices
* Demonstrated understanding of BIM standards and workflows
* Experience in creating and managing Revit families and templates
* Experience with large-scale IT infrastructure projects
* Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English
* Ability to work independently and as part of a global team
* Experience interacting with cross-functional teams & subject-matter experts
* Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
* Professional working knowledge using Microsoft Office Applications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Proficiency in additional European languages
* Experience in process design/optimization
* Demonstrated historicial experience of telecom infrastructure design principles and best practices
* Familiarity with IT infrastructure systems, including structured cabling
* Working knowledge of indoor surveying workflows, equipment and techniques to create usable 3D reference models in Revit and maintenance of accurate 2D area documentation
* Proficiency in additional 3D modeling software (e.g., SketchUp, 3ds Max)
* Familiarity with AI and machine learning applications in design processes
* Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Python, C#) for custom tool development
* Experience with project management tools and methodologies
