A Housing Association is currently looking for a Building Surveyor for about 3 months.

Key responsibilities are as follows

You’ll be using Google Maps and Upshot photos to visually inspect a list of properties,to determine the following

Whether a parapet wall is present

If there is any corbelling (overhanging brickwork)

Signs of defects, such as cracking or movement

This information will be recorded in a tracker and used to categorize buildings by risk, guiding the next stage of site inspections or drone surveys

This work will directly contribute to resident safety by helping us identify and prioritize buildings that may pose a risk.

You’ll be playing a key role in preventing future incidents and ensuring the homes remain safe and secure

Looking for a methodical and detail-oriented approach

Basic understanding of building construction

Confidence using Google Maps and navigating street views

No advanced technical knowledge is required—just a sharp eye and a commitment to accuracy.

We’ve already reviewed 735 properties. Now, we’re moving on to the next batch of 3,381 pre-1920 buildings, which include a mix of roof types. Your task is to help us identify which of these have parapet walls and assess their condition.

The role is paying £24.40 PAYE or £32.27 Umbrella

This role is hybrid, 2 based in the office and 3 from home
