Edge Careers are currently working on behalf of a key client that’s looking for a CAD Technician to join their growing team. This contractor is a large Groundworks & Civils Contractor that offers an excellent package, fantastic career progression and the ability to work on a wide range of projects. Salary negotiable depending on experience.

This will be an office based role, working Monday to Friday with the odd day out on site visiting one of their various live projects.

I’m looking to speak with CAD Technicians that come from a similar infrastructure/Civils/Groundworks background or Land Surveyors that work within this sector.

Candidates that have 2 years + experience
Proficient in AutoCAD, with experience/knowledge of using 3D Civils and Agtek software (beneficial).

A strong working knowledge of Civil Engineering and Design is crucial. Good communication skills, with the ability to work as part of team and co-ordinate between different areas of the business.

The CAD Technician job will involve:

• Create, modify, and update 2D and 3D CAD drawings, use of AutoCAD, 3D Civils, Agtek software.
• Develop site layouts, road alignments, drainage systems, and earthworks designs.
• Look at pre-start drawings and Interpret technical specifications, engineering sketches, and survey data to create detailed drawings.
• Provide cut and fill analysis
• Assist engineers in preparing construction and planning documents.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company design guidelines.
• Operating drone for surveying and mapping (license/training will be provided if you don’t have a license)
