Job Description

Join a cutting-edge aerospace project focused on simulating the aerodynamic behaviour of next-genUnmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). AtALTEN UK, we’re looking for aCFD Engineerto deliver high-fidelity models usingANSYS Fluent, enabling digital wind tunnel testing where physical testing isn’t feasible. This is your chance to play a key role in a fast-paced, simulation-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and runCFD simulationsto analyse aerodynamic performance of UAVs
  • UseANSYS Fluentto model airflow, drag, and pressure distributions
  • Work closely with design teams to optimise aircraft geometry based on results
  • Apply meshing techniques and post-process simulation data for performance insights
  • Document and present findings to internal stakeholders and engineering leads
  • Maintain accuracy and efficiency in tight project timelines

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience inCFD(aerospace or UAV experience preferred)
  • Proficiency withANSYS Fluent, meshing tools, and post-processing techniques
  • Understanding ofaerodynamics,fluid flow, and real-world boundary condition modelling
  • Good communication skills and ability to work independently within a collaborative team
  • Must beUK-basedand able to work inDerbyat least 3–4 days a week
