You are a savvy, grassroots marketer who is passionate about community building and engagement. You are passionate about sport, you have existing strong relationships within the running or cycling communities and have a reputation as a social connector. You are a self-starter and have the ability to drive projects independently while working closely with the UK Country Lead and UK Associate Community Manager. This role also requires logistics, tech and budgeting skills, the ability to prioritize pragmatically, come up with an abundance of creative ideas, and most importantly, a love of sport and Strava.

This is a fixed term 12 month contract, based in London.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will:

  • Build and cultivate relationships, both digitally & IRL, with a growing and diverse set of world-class creators, club organizers & event organizers in the U.K.
  • Collaborate with key athletes, creators, club organizers & event organizers to help them get the most out of Strava’s products as they build and engage with their community.
  • Support and be responsible for key areas on Strava creator, club or event Programs.
  • Create, innovate and execute initiatives with local creators, club organizers, and event organizers to deepen their platform affiliation, or amplify them on and off-platform.
  • Measure and report on the impact of your work; communicate these metrics, wins & learnings to the wider team.
  • Contribute to local UK insights for the Global Team. Contribute on weekly, monthly reports on trends, events, key clubs and influencers, and opportunities and recommendations.
  • Increase diversity, equity and inclusion for underrepresented creators and communities on Strava and within the industry. Participate in Diversity Dialogues, trainings and apply these practices to all areas of your work.
  • Take on ad-hoc stretch projects, owning their results from ideation, execution, to reporting - supporting the business where needed.
  • Support on the build of Strava’s B2B Content Platform - from conception, execution to maintenance.
  • Create engaging B2B content that informs brands, community clubs and event organizers on how to get the best out of using Strava - use data to measure results and feedback to make constant improvements.
  • Ideate and execute new ways to engage Clubs and Brands, for instance webinars and online tutorials.
  • From strategy to execution, lead on producing engaging content for the UK Strava Club and UK Newsletter, that focuses on and surfaces the best Creators, Clubs and Events on Strava.
  • Develop deep knowledge of Strava’s positioning in the UK market, in order to inform and shape locally impactful strategies that resonate with athletes across the community.
  • Surface locally relevant ideas to add value to the athletic community.
  • Lift organic and earned brand awareness by amplifying local word-of-mouth advocacy to drive organic growth in the community.
  • Lead with empathy, regularly share and request feedback and commit to your own development plan.
  • Foster connections by putting people first, enrolling & collaborating with members across Strava and understand how to get the best out of others.
  • Regularly develop Product, Tech and Data skills and expertise.

You will be successful here by:

  • Establishing community relationships and developing connections with a core audience of creators, club organisers and event organizers, primarily in running, cycling or the broader connected fitness and wellness industry.
  • Recognizing & connecting with the next big creators and club organisers, staying ahead of industry trends.
  • Influencing the team through clear and concise communication, ensuring timely and relevant updates.
  • Attentively listening and understanding others’ perspectives that support the incorporation of multiple voices.
  • Experience using data and analytics in the service of larger initiatives — ability to track, analyze and communicate key metrics and business trends.
  • Experience articulating creator culture and feedback to internal stakeholders; knowledge of the talent and influencer space and the evolving players in the space.
  • Knowledge of known & emerging social media platforms and how creators create content.
  • Demonstrating a willingness to learn from others' perspectives and experiences. Practices a growth mindset by being open to new ideas and feedback.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to develop creative partner activations and moments.
  • Deep passion for Strava and the health and wellness of the world’s athletes; you may not be a creator, but you understand the landscape and believe that high quality and inspiring content is important.
  • Collaborating with team members to deliver impactful results.
  • Working with the UK Partner manager to set stretch goals that are aligned with core business objectives.
  • Seeking opportunities to learn and grow individually. Explore self-development initiatives and take advantage of available resources.
  • Developing skills in prioritizing individual tasks and projects based on your impact and value.
  • Being decisive and focused - using overall business objectives and product market fit as a filter to decide or work through.

You are a perfect fit because:

  • +2 years of experience in marketing or PR.
  • Experience working cross-functionally and with all levels of management.
  • Project management experience, with experience executing and handling multiple time-sensitive, cross-functional projects on deadline.
  • You can support events, create community plans, and know how to drive ideas forward with enthusiasm.
  • Flexibility to travel to key cities, community hubs and events across the U.K.
  • Communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience thinking strategically about complex issues, leading to thoughtful recommendations and action plans.
  • You are proficient working with community monitoring software.
