A unique and fantastic opportunity for a STEM Graduate or experienced Drone Pilot to work for a technology company developing cutting-edge imaging systems. Having grown rapidly, they are looking to bring on a Drone Pilot to work within their technical and customer support team. This team operates advanced drone systems in live customer environments, supports onboarding, and contributes to product development and testing. This role ideally suits either an experienced drone pilot, or a recent Graduate who has a strong understanding of flight navigation and the mechanics that power a drone. They are happy to assist a graduate towards gaining their drone pilot's license.


Location:Based in Cambridge (UK), with 50% travel to global client sites – must hold a full, clean UK driving licence and be in a personal position to freely travel.


Salary:£35,000 - £45,000 per annum + annual performance-based bonus + stock option plan + benefits package (including pension scheme and private health insurance).


Requirements for Drone Pilot Operator

• Ideally, you will have demonstrated experience operating drones, however, graduates with a strong understanding of flight navigation and the mechanics that power a drone are encouraged to apply

•Any familiarity with UAV mission planning software and data post-processing tools would be beneficial.

• Strong technical aptitude, with the ability to quickly grasp imaging system concepts.

•You MUST be in a position to travel frequently - this idea should excite you, as travel can be global and at short notice

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on customer experience.

• Ability to work independently in field conditions and collaboratively across teams.

Experience in the following is beneficial: Multispectral or thermal imaging payloads; precision agriculture; remote sensing; environmental monitoring; camera systems; optics; imaging data workflows; UK CAA regulations, UAV mission planning software; data post-processing tools; basic scripting or programming knowledge (e.g., Python).


Responsibilities for Drone Pilot Operator

• Operate advanced drone systems for customer demonstrations, onboarding sessions, and field testing.

• Plan and execute drone flight missions tailored for product demonstrations.

• Test and evaluate new payloads and product features, providing structured feedback to engineering teams.

• Support pilot training for customers and partners, including setup and safe operation of systems.

• Collect, analyse, and document flight data and performance reports.

• Maintain drone hardware and ground control equipment, performing basic troubleshooting and field repairs.

• Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and marketing teams to refine customer experience and system performance.
