We are seeking an Ecologist to join our Environmental and Sustainability clients. The role involves a blend of remote and on-site work, with periodic office-based requirements. Role comes with a salary of up to £38,000, depending on experience, plus vehicle.

Responsibilities for Ecologist

Conduct site visits to survey and study animals, plants, and the environment, ensuring accurate ecological data collection.
Produce Preliminary Ecological Assessments and Ecological Impact Assessments.
Develop ecological reports, specifications, and detailed habitat and species records.
Carry out protected species surveys, including associated management and protection strategies.
Provide expert advice on environmental and ecological legislation.
Collaborate with the UAV Operations team to analyse aerial drone footage for ecological assessments.
Calculate biodiversity scoring using the DEFRA Biodiversity Metric.
Undertake primary and secondary Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) surveys, producing reports and site management specifications.
Act as an Ecological Clerk of Works (ECOW) to ensure compliance with environmental legislation, contractual obligations, and Network Rail standards.
Liaise with clients, project managers, and stakeholders to develop and promote positive working relationships.Requirements for Ecologist

Degree in Ecology or a related field.
CIEEM membership (minimum ACIEEM or working towards).
Full UK driving licence.
Strong report writing skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
Protected species licence(s).
Ecological consultancy experience.
