Full-Time Permanent Teacher of English - Join Our Dynamic Cambridge Independent School

Are you an inspiring and versatile Teacher of English with a passion for language and literature? Our vibrant independent school in Cambridge is seeking a full-time, permanent Teacher of English to start in September 2025. What the Role Involves:

  • You will teach engaging and rigorous English Language and Literature lessons across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 (GCSE), and Key Stage 5 (A-Level).

  • You will guide students in developing advanced reading comprehension, critical analysis, and persuasive writing abilities.

  • You will explore diverse literary traditions and contemporary works, fostering cultural awareness and empathy.

  • You will provide thorough assessment, constructive feedback, and targeted support to ensure every student reaches their full potential.

  • You will actively contribute to the broader school community, including involvement in literary societies, school publications, or dramatic productions.

    Who We Are Looking For:

  • You will be a qualified teacher (QTS desirable, or demonstrable excellence in an independent setting).

  • You will hold a Bachelor's degree in English or a relevant humanities subject.

  • You will have experience teaching English across Key Stage 3, GCSE, and A-Level.

  • You will possess a deep understanding of the English curriculum and effective pedagogical strategies.

  • You will have excellent organisational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to meticulous planning.
