Ready to Lead a Deep-Tech Company on the Brink of Breakthrough?

A fast-growing and 100% employee-owned climate-tech company is on a mission to redefine how the world understands atmospheric data - using state-of-the-art drone technology and sensor innovation. Backed by ARIA and with flagship projects spanning the Greenland Ice Sheet to new frontiers in cloud engineering, they’re seeking a hands-on General Manager (or Managing Director in waiting) to take the reins of internal operations and lead the charge into a commercial future.

The company builds rugged, cutting-edge atmospheric-sensing systems that feed into their core product - a web-based cloud solution combining next-gen sensors, regulatory expertise, and robotic automation. As they prepare to launch the product at a key robotic process automation event later this year, they need a full-time operator to ensure internal excellence and external impact.

You’ll own day-to-day operations (finance, HR, QA, compliance), ensure delivery on £1m+ R&D contracts, and work side-by-side with the founders to build scalable commercial subscription-based offerings. Your mission? Wire up the back office. Deliver the product launch. Unlock the scale-up.

This isn’t a distant boardroom role - it’s for someone who thrives in a builder-operator role. The right candidate has:

  • 5+ years in senior leadership in deep-tech, aerospace, industrial IoT or similar
  • A track record of owning P&L, improving internal systems, and leading launches
  • A blend of rigour and creativity, with comfort across ISO, Agile and lean ops
  • Commercial firepower to shape GTM plans, close enterprise deals, and steer pricing strategy
  • Confidence working with scientists, engineers, regulators and corporate buyers alike

Bonus points if you've navigated ARIA, Innovate UK or EU grant funding - or if you're familiar with the meteorological market.

Make this your next mission.

This is a rare opportunity to join a purpose-driven, high-autonomy team at a crucial point. With a £80–100K salary, EMI share options, flexible working, and real progression toward a future MD/CEO role, you’ll be building both the company and your own legacy.

  • 2 anchor days/week on-site in Leeds
  • Full-time (4–5 days/week)
  • Conference travel, field deployments, and off-sites included

If you’re ready to operationalise innovation and bring world-class climate-tech to market apply now!

Veterans in UAVs & Drones: A Military‑to‑Civilian Pathway into Uncrewed Aviation Careers

Introduction Britain’s skies are getting crowded—by design. The UK Future Flight Challenge is injecting £300 million into next‑generation drones, cargo VTOLs, and air‑traffic management (ATM) tech. PwC values UK drone adoption at £45 billion in economic impact by 2030, generating 650,000 new jobs in inspection, delivery, and emergency response. The Ministry of Defence (MoD) leads the charge with programmes such as Protector RG Mk1 (MQ‑9B Reaper successor) and Project MORPHEUS swarm trials. For veterans, drones are familiar territory. Whether you flew a Watchkeeper UAS over Helmand, maintained quadcopters for route clearance, or coordinated temporary danger areas (TDAs) for training, your skills map directly to the civilian drone revolution. This guide explains how to leverage MoD transition programmes, translate military credentials, and land rewarding roles in piloting, engineering, and drone‑data analytics.
