Key responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the organisation’s HSE strategy, policies, and procedures aligned with business objectives.

  • Team Leadership & Development: Inspire and lead a national HSE team, setting clear goals and overseeing training requirements for staff and contractors in line with legislation and best practice.

  • Culture & Compliance: Champion a people-first safety culture, embedding HSE best practices into day-to-day operations and leading continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Performance & Metrics: Ensure compliance with internal procedures and KPIs, implementing corrective actions and improvements as needed.

  • Risk Management & Accreditation: Oversee the implementation of robust risk management systems and maintain ISO and Integrated Management System (IMS) accreditations.

  • Reporting & Governance: Lead incident investigations and provide strategic reporting to the Board on HSE performance, risks, and mitigation actions.

  • Representation: Serve as the organisation’s HSE ambassador, ensuring the company is recognised as a leader in health, safety, and environmental standards.

    The ideal candidate:

  • Significant senior-level experience in HSE, ideally within facilities management, property maintenance, or construction sectors.

  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent with CMIOSH or IEMA membership.

  • Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, ISO management systems, and compliance frameworks.

  • Proven ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels and drive cultural transformation.
