Interim Group Financial Controller

Morgan Law are seeking an interim Group Financial Controller for a Charity in the London area.

Accountabilities

Responsible for the preparation of Financial Statements for audit and liaising with the charities Group Auditors to complete the annual audit to the agreed timetable
Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of all Corporation Tax and VAT returns and ensuring that the charity is compliant with all relevant regulations
Ensure the direction and priorities are identified, set and understood by all finance team members, and to take responsibility for the development and motivation of the team
Prepare the management accounts for all the operations in line with the monthly accounting timetable
Prepare and deliver the operational audit plan and timetable and conducting the Group Audit
The post holder will be required to present relevant financial reports at Group Finance, Audit and Investment committees and subsidiary entity Board meetingsEssential Requirements

Fully qualified CCAB/CIMA accountant
Recent experience working in a not for profit environment
Knowledge of business operations processes, in a voluntary sector environment
Knowledge of SORP, charitable finance regulations and key strategic and funder finance reporting
Knowledge of corporation tax and VAT regulations in a voluntary sector environment.
Knowledge of Company Secretary regulations for a Registered Charity
Knowledge and experience of mergers and acquisitions and managing financial Due Diligence
Assertive and strong communication skills with excellent listening skills together with persuasive analytical skills
