An established company based in Alfreton, that is continuing to grow year on year, are looking for a Buyer to join their team. As the Junior Buyer, you will play an integral role in the company's expenditure management. Reporting to the Senior Buyer you will be responsible for all indirect buying including stationery/packaging etc.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Ensure stock is available to coincide with planned production

  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Sourcing new suppliers

  • Highlight cost saving opportunities

  • Price negotiation

  • Conducting tenders

  • Creating stock reports

  • Raising of purchase orders

  • Support Senior Buyer with the purchase of raw plastic materials

  • Co-ordinate with internal departments such as planning and sales

  • Tracking of supplier performance

  • Review and consolidate supply base

    Parts you will be responsible for:

  • Plastic materials

  • Labels corrugated boxes

  • Polythene bags

  • Masterbatch

  • Pallets

  • PPE

  • Stationery

  • Other bought in components

    As the Junior Buyer you will be able to build good relationships with all kinds of people, be persuasive plus willing to make decisions and take responsibility for them. You do not need to have experience in buying, a background in administration and a willing to learn is ideal.

    In return you will be offered a salary of £30,000 - £34,000 depending on experience. Working hours are Monday to Friday, full time in the office, 8:30am - 5:00pm. Also, you will be offered 23 days holidays plus statutory Bank Holidays, and extra days. Free parking available
