Maintenance Mechanic Technician Positions in Dayton NJ!!!

We currently have 2 great job opportunities forMaintenance Mechanic Tech I and Maintenance Mechanic Tech IIin the Dayton NJ area. As aMaintenance Mechanic Tech I and II, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing plant equipment through preventive maintenance, efficient repairs, and adherence to safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will ensure continuous production operations by proactively addressing mechanical and electrical equipment needs.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Material Handling Equipment (MHE) & Automation Systems:
    Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electric forklifts, scissor lifts, pallet jacks, conveyors, and other MHE.
    Diagnose and repair conveyors, warehouse control systems, print-and-apply machines, automatic case sealing machines, and related automation equipment.
    Work with PLC-controlled systems and troubleshoot basic electrical and mechanical failures.
    Diagnose failures, determine parts and material requirements, and perform repairs as required to resume operation on production equipment.
    Train and/or certify users on proper use of MHE and pre-operational checklist.
    Change or maintain batteries on MHE.
    Assist in monitoring inventory of spare parts, special need items, and tools.
    Use WCS HMI to diagnose mechanical issues and collaborate with service provider.
  2. Facility & Infrastructure Maintenance:
    Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot HVAC systems, ensuring proper temperature control for skincare and fragrance storage requirements.
    Perform basic plumbing, electrical, mechanical, general carpentry, and painting within the facility.
    Repair minor electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and dock doors and levelers.
    Perform safety inspections of ladders, MHE, and other equipment.
    Maintain work area, tools, and shop equipment in a clean and functional manner.
    Ability to operate computers and maintenance diagnostics equipment including analog and digital multi-meters, pyrometers, photo-tachometers, etc.
  3. Safety & Compliance:
    Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OSHA, B Corp, and hazmat handling regulations.
    Follow LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures and maintain proper safety protocols when servicing equipment.
    Support facility EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) initiatives, including emergency preparedness and spill response.
  4. Continuous Improvement & Documentation:
    Help create and maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
    Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades and process improvements to reduce downtime.
    Train and mentor junior technicians on equipment maintenance and troubleshooting best practices.

Key Performance Indicators:

  1. MHE & WCS/Conveyor Up Time
  2. PM Service Schedule
  3. Current/Active Inspection

Education:
High School Diploma or GED;Engineering/Maintenance Training

Experience & Skills:
10+ years of experience in maintenance and repair of MHE, automation systems, and facility infrastructure within a distribution, manufacturing, or fulfillment environment.
Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills with conveyors, forklifts, and PLC-based automation.
Experience with warehouse control systems (WCS).
Strong understanding of OSHA safety protocols, including LOTO, PPE, and hazard communication.
Forklift and Aerial Lift Certification (or ability to obtain).
Ability to read WCS HMI and troubleshoot with remote service provider.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in varying warehouse environments.
Ability to work at heights using scissor lifts and aerial platforms.
Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Schedule & Pay:

Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm

Hourly rate of $30-$40 per hour
