A rare opportunity has arisen for a Marketing and Communications Manager to join our team based in Frimley working Mon to Fri 9am to 5pm with some hybrid working available too. We could also accommodate a 4 day working week. We are seeking a Marketing and Communications Manager to oversee the Marketing function and another member of staff. This includes collaborating with key partners and external 3rd party organisations. We are a UK wide charitable organisation and can offer a professional and welcoming team environment from our Head office. Reporting into the Director of Marketing you will be responsible for planning, implementing and measuring the effectiveness of our marketing communications, public relations, media relations, and events programmes in support of the overall business plan strategy for the business.

The role could suit candidates who are currently working in a similar role and seeking a new challenge, or you could be looking to find a better work/life balance and work closer to home for a charitable status company or alternatively, you might be looking for the next step up in your career to secure your first Marketing Manager level role. Any experience within education, training, learning, charity or voluntary sectors would be of interest but is not essential.

The main duties of the role will be:-

Work closely with the Director of Marketing & Communications to agree and implement PR, media and marketing campaigns in support of the defined business plan
Produce an annual marketing and communications plan to meet the needs of the business plan
Use experience and research to plan the development of the communications function targeting the specific agreed audiences
Develop and deliver the businesses key proposition across a range of channels, including digital, ensuring all communication is audience focused, to maximise awareness and engagement
Responsible for ensuring that the media campaigns (online and offline, print and broadcast) derive maximum value for the business and effectively address audience needs in a clear and simple way
Maintain an up-to-date insight into developments in voluntary sector PR and media campaigns, feed into research requirements and use this understanding to inform overall plans
Ensure that all marketing, communications and PR activities are fully compliant with the requirements of CIPR and Charity Commission codes of practice
Derive best value for the business in negotiations with external suppliers
Working with the Event Manager and relevant Operations Team provide support to Awards and other events
Provide monthly reporting against objectives for PR, media (Including website analytics and all social media) activity
Additional duties may include:-

Provide support to the creation and production of our marketing collateral, resource materials and impact report as required
Attend training, meetings and networking events as and when required
Provide monthly reconciliation against budget for expenditure on PR, media and events projects
Oversee the delivery of all annual PR plan to meet objectives and targets, within budget
Undertake training through online and direct PR/media industry providers (CIPR, PRCA, DSC etc.) is expected and additional training needs will be reviewed twice a year
To be successful as our Marketing and Communications Manager you should have the below skills and experience:-
Proven experience in a marketing & communications role; organising and delivering marketing, media and PR campaigns and events
Ideally a recognised qualification in marketing, communications, media and/or PR
Experience of the Development and delivery of business objectives
Experience of delivering digital marketing and media campaigns
Ideally experience of working with volunteers and supporter groups
Cross-media campaigning
Proven project management ability using finite/modest budget
Excellent Communication – written & oral as you will represent the business clearly, concisely and with confidence and be able to make engaging and persuasive presentations to internal and external audiences
IT - Able to use MS Office suite, internet, website and database software and common social media tools (preferably including HP5 and SCORM would be an asset)
Budget management - Under supervision, control budgets to agreed levels
Training and motivation - Be able to engage other staff so that they understand the importance of the PR and media activities to the business plan
