We are seeking a dynamic and technically skilledMIL/GOVPre-Sales/Support Engineerfor theEMEA/APAC regionto join the Satcom Direct Government team. In this role, you will serve as a vital link between our sales and technical teams, providing expert support and guidance throughout the sales process. You will leverage your technical knowledge to assist clients in understanding our products, addressing their needs, and ensuring a smooth onboarding experience after purchase. You will be responsible for assisting with product development, delivering demos and trials, and supporting deployed solutions.

You must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for all technical requirements to ensure that our end customers have the highest level of satisfaction with our products. You must be able to establish and maintain a strong working relationship and open communication channels with internal and customer points of contact.

The successful candidate will display a high degree of professionalism, analytical engineering expertise, troubleshooting skills, with excellent communication skills.

How will you make a difference?

  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify customer requirements and tailor solutions to meet their specific needs.
  • Provide technical expertise during pre-sales presentations, product demonstrations, and RFP responses.
  • Develop and deliver engaging product presentations and demos to prospective customers.
  • Create detailed technical documentation, proposals, and solution architectures that align with client requirements.
  • Address customer inquiries and technical issues promptly, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
  • Work closely with the product development team to relay customer feedback and contribute to product improvements.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops for clients to ensure successful implementation and utilization of our products.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, product knowledge, and competitive landscape to effectively position our offerings and develop new ones.
  • Represent SDG at various regional events, trade shows, and conferences.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) inElectrical Engineering,Aeronautical Engineering,Networking, related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 7-12 years of engineering experience in a related field (e.g.MilitaryorAero Systems).
  • Proven experience in apresales/architectureortechnical supportrole.
  • Must be willing and able to travel to the office in Farnborough, as required.
  • Ability to travel extensively within the EMEA/APAC region as required, up to 50%.
  • Must already be eligible to work and live in the UK.

Required Skills, Experience, and Talents

  • Prior hands-on experience withMilitaryand/orCivil Aero SATCOMequipment and satellite networks is mandatory.
  • Prior experience supporting global sales teams with technical expertise, includingcustomer proposal writing,demos,presentations, etc.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Ability to learn quickly and make effective decisions in a performance-based high energy work environment.

Preferred Skills, Experience, and Talents

  • Strong understanding of networking, software applications, and technical solutions within the military satellite communications (SATCOM) field is highly desirable.
  • Experience in but not essential – Video compression, Linux administration.
  • Interest in low TRL prototyping and rapid product development.
  • Prior experience with UAV and/or Airborne ISR communications systems is desirable.
  • Can-do attitude and collaborative work style; flexibility.
  • Works independently and can prioritize under stressful situations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Additional Information

Base Pay: Based on experience and responsibilities.

Target Annual Short-Term Incentive: Bonus Plan at 10% (% of Annualized Base Pay).

Eligible for Incentive Stock Program: No.
